Quality Assurance is an essential part of Partek's management system. Operating under a quality assurance system complying with the AZ/NZS ISO 9001:2008 standard, Partek is committed to continually monitoring and improving the Quality Assurance System within the company to ensure that all tasks undertaken by employees add value back to the customer and to Partek.

The Quality Assurance System is seen as a valuable business tool in ensuring that all tasks are completed following careful guidelines, these guidelines are a set of "Best Practices" for projects to be completed on time, within budget and are completed to the highest quality.

The "Best Practices" of Partek's Quality Assurance System regularly audited by both external and internal audits. These audits certify that the system is being adhered to and where appropriate, identifies ways in which they can be improved.

During any project, Partek personnel are responsible for on-site inspections across each trade, at various stages throughout a project. This inspection process is in-line with an Project Quality Plan (PQP), which forms part of Partek's superior Quality Assurance System.

Project Quality Plan (PQP) forms are developed to minimise the number of defects and disruptions to a project. The PQP forms identifies the materials and work to be completed, and at what stage or frequency. PQP forms also provide necessary references to relevant standards with the records maintained by Partek's Project Manager.

As part of its Quality Assurance System, the company will also carry out its own independent defect inspection three days prior to handover.

Partek is committed to ensuring that all staff, subcontractors and visitors remain safe while at work on any Partek site. Senior management has committed many resources to ensure that the OH&S process within the company continues to be improved in order to ensure the safety of all staff.

Partek's OHS&W committee have been a driving force in the implementation of many changes, and the committee in their regular monthly meetings identifies areas that need improvement within the workplace.

Site safety is critical, and information provided to an employee or subcontractor at the commencement of their work on that site will help to ensure that that employee/subcontractor remains safe. With the help of our employees on site, the committee and senior management identified a number of tools which will ensure that all employees/subcontractors and visitors are given the essential safety information required while they are on a Partek site.

The "Site Safety Booklet" is another communication tool which Partek distributes to employees and subcontractors. This small hand held booklet details various aspects which need to be considered when working to ensure that the individual is kept safe. The book is designed to be kept in a toolbox so that the employee/subcontractor readily has information at hand should they require a "refresher" on a certain safety issue.

Partek recently gained Government accreditation for its OH&S processes. The first process of this accreditation was to implement a system which is in line with the Australian Standard 4801:2001.

In November 2008, a new OH&S Policy was approved and signed by the Managing Director. The new policy allows each employee/subcontractor to see what their accountabilities and responsibilities are in relation to OH&S.

Partek is aware of the various impacts our industry can have on the environment, and while working closely with Kesab we are committed to constantly improving our practices to minimise this impact.

Partek have an Environmental Management System in place and accreditation in ISO 14001:2004. Our staff utilise this system to implement site specific plans with suitable environmental controls and monitoring programs.

Partek also have a number of staff members who are recognised as Accredited Greenstar Associates with the Green Building Council of Australia.
